Hello everybody,
Last night i did a "pacman -Syu", and that caused my sound to stop working. Under KDE, kmix tells me that it can't find a mixer. Anybody got a solution? Anybody else experiencing the same problem?

Did you remove any OSS compatibility modules from modprobe.conf, and rerun alsaconf?

I had same problem. Sound module was not loaded automatically anymore . I had to put sound module to rc.conf MODULES line . Btw i had many other modules not loading automatically , parport_pc, lp and maybe others .

<carefully trying to not hijack the thread>
I thought the alsa config utility made the addtions to modprobe.conf; I don't remember adding it myself.
lp, certainly, and if my memory serves, parport needed to be added manually on one of my machines, too. I exchanged a couple of e'mails with tpowa on this a few months ago. The modules remain in my config file, and I'm happily print so haven't worried about it.

I updated udev from testing reposity and read this guide :
file:///etc/udev/readme-udev-arch.txt
This solved my problems . ( Reading the guide i suppose ).
