Horribly new to linux, just got a fresh install for arch on my computer. I was able to connect to my wireless through my install medium, but my install refuses to connect. I have already followed the beginners guide, wireless set up guide and searched the forums. I followed this http://www.themukt.com/2014/06/07/arch-linux-tutorial/ for installation, but can only get to the end of page 4. I have installed iw, and wireles_tools from chroot. When I finally got wifi-menu working it says job for the auto netctl.service failed. Been on this for 4 hours, please help.

I would probably go by the Beginner's Guide instead and either do it over or take a look through it to get help:
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Be … Wireless_2
Check out the wiki page for Netctl:
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Netctl
Specifically the troubleshooting section:
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ne … ice_failed
A sticky point is that people often use the wrong interface name. Anyway maybe try checking the logs as shown above and post it here using the [ c o d e ] tags. Someone may be able to assist more.
Personally on the last install I did it was a laptop so I opted to just use Network Manager. Be aware that you cannot usually install two network control utilities such as netctl and network manager at once. It will often cause problems.

I'm assuming that with iw you also added:
# pacman -S iw wpa_supplicant
In chroot? and have you installed
# pacman -S dialog
which is required in the beginners guide. I had the same issues with my first install got to be carefull and not skip anything. Also follow the Arch guide instead of any third party guide as they will not update but Arch will. The one recommended by davidm is the ideal one to use.
