Using pulse audio to stream to shairport

Hello everyone,

I'm not sure if what i'm trying to do is even possible, and so far it's not working.
I have a pimusicbox configured and working. It's a minimal distribution including the script shairport.
I'm able to send the sound from an ipad directly to it.

I also have my laptop, that has pulseaudio installed.

On that laptop, I made sure to install avahi.
My pulse install also has the modules module-raop-discover, module-raop-sink and module-zeroconf-discover.

Using paprefs, I was also able to check the box "Make discoverable Apple Airtunes sound devices available locally".

My laptop is then able to autodetect my music box, and creates a new device ready to be used ! Which is great !
Except that if I start using it, no sound is sent on my pimusicbox, and the playback on my player simply stops.

By stopping, I mean the progressbar on the media stops progressing, but the state of the player is still "playing". I have the same problem with totem and Xnoise, and I believe they are both based on gstreamer.
Other players don't work either : flashplayer, html5 video etc...

Is there a way to trace what is the error my pulseaudio is encountering ?
Anyone has any experience on that setup ?
More generally, I'm just trying to "push" sound from my laptop to that musicbox installation I have, so other solutions than raop are welcomed.

Thanks !
