Arch Linux in VMware Fusion 7 on MacBook Pro 13" Retina: Xorg Issues

Hello, I recently setup a new Arch Linux x64 machine in VMware Fusion 7 on a new Mac Book Pro 13" Retina (Intel Iris video).  After a fresh install with all the updates I cannot seem to get Xorg to start.  The exact error I get from /var/log/Xorg.0.log:

[  2925.564] (II) GLX: Initialized DRI2 GL provider for screen 0
[  2925.565] (EE)
Fatal server error:
[  2925.565] (EE) failed to create screen resources(EE)
[  2925.565] (EE)
Please consult the The X.Org Foundation support
     at http://wiki.x.org
for help.
[  2925.565] (EE) Please also check the log file at "/var/log/Xorg.0.log" for additional information.
[  2925.565] (EE)
[  2925.565] (II) AIGLX: Suspending AIGLX clients for VT switch
[  2925.565] (WW) vmware(0): drmDropMaster failed: Invalid argument
[  2925.574] (EE) Server terminated with error (1). Closing log file.

I am assuming this has something to do with configuration of xorg.conf settings and the screen resolution?  Any thoughts about where I should begin making changes?  I am assuming manually specifying screen config/properties in xorg.conf is one area to investigate and another may be something to do with KMS (Kernel Mode Setting).  Google search for "(EE) failed to create screen resources(EE)" yielded very little the first result being an Arch Linux forum post but not the same circumstances as this.  I figured I would start here for anyone else who has encountered this with a similar hardware setup.

Did you install extra/xf86-video-vmware ?

That package seems to already be installed by default as a part/dependancy of the xorg package.

Hello,

I have the same issue, with the same MacBook. I have tried with vesa and vmware driver.
Could you please tell me how you fix it ?

[Edit] I successfully launched openbox session with xf86-video-vesa driver but it is still impossible with vmware video driver.
