/usr/bin/login not logging in

First time posting on these forums, so bear with me.

I've been installing Arch Linux three times in the last week, not because of a problem, but because my general interest in Arch Linux. All those installations have one thing in common: /usr/bin/login causes PuTTY to close. When I, for example, do

[xxx@arch-desktop ~]$ login yyy

PuTTY closes. It doesn't give any feedback. I can't really test this anymore, but when I didn't use SSH, the command took a while to give back control, and didn't login.

I didn't find any bug reports, so that's the reason I'm posting here. It think I'm just missing something simple here, and wasn't able to figure out how to debug this problem.

Thanks in advance!

Re: /usr/bin/login not logging in

Try adding:

/bin/login

in /etc/shells.

Re: /usr/bin/login not logging in

Could you elaborate on that? I added it, and rebooted, but I don't notice any differences.
