New Laptop Migration

I will be receiving my new laptop today and want to move my installation to the new computer.  Both are significantly similar, just a two year newer version.  (Dell XPS13 non touch screen to the newest XPS with a touchscreen).  I plan to install the base system on the new machine from scratch, but want to ensure the remaining system is migrated correctly.  After installing the base system, should I move my /home and then follow this:

It seems pretty straight forward.  I just don't know if there are any 'gotchas' along the way, or if something will end up breaking the entire process.  I'll have access to both devices while doing the migration.  I am just hoping to make it as quick and painless as possible.  Any hints or tricks?

Thanks
