Graphical VMs die unexpectedly after Virtualbox update.

Greetings fellow Arch'ers! smile

I have recently updated Vbox:

[2014-10-28 15:57] [ALPM-SCRIPTLET] Creating symlink /var/lib/dkms/vboxhost/4.3.18/source ->
[2014-10-28 15:57] [ALPM-SCRIPTLET]                  /usr/src/vboxhost-4.3.18
[2014-10-28 15:57] [ALPM-SCRIPTLET]
[2014-10-28 15:57] [ALPM-SCRIPTLET] DKMS: add completed.
[2014-10-28 15:57] [ALPM-SCRIPTLET] ==> To build and install your modules run: dkms install vboxhost/4.3.18
[2014-10-28 15:57] [ALPM-SCRIPTLET] ==> To do this automatically at startup run: systemctl enable dkms.service
[2014-10-28 15:57] [PACMAN] upgraded virtualbox-host-dkms (4.3.14-4 -> 4.3.18-1)
[2014-10-28 15:57] [ALPM-SCRIPTLET] In order to use the new version, reload all virtualbox modules manually.
[2014-10-28 15:57] [PACMAN] upgraded virtualbox-host-modules (4.3.18-3 -> 4.3.18-4)
[2014-10-28 15:57] [PACMAN] upgraded virtualbox (4.3.14-4 -> 4.3.18-1)

And now whenever I start a Graphical host it aborts:

Has anyone experienced a simialr issue?

Thanks

Re: Graphical VMs die unexpectedly after Virtualbox update.

I had a vbox crashing problem before, but I am not sure if it's the same one.

What crashed me was an outdated Virtualbox Extension Pack. Pacman will not update the Extension Pack. Click Help -> Check for Updates to see if you need to update that.

Re: Graphical VMs die unexpectedly after Virtualbox update.

Arch virtualbox packaging changed a little while ago and caused VM's to abort like this. For me and many others the fix was to install virtualbox-ext-oracle from the AUR.
