I have been working to setup my server so that I can use it for file serving using NFS mounts. The problem is that the files I am transferring are fairly large so I need to squeeze every last ounce of speed out of the connection as possible, leading me to my problem: my wirless connection is CRAP (at least for LAN speeds).
The entire wirless network is N so I should have a theoretical max speed of 150 Mbps. Problem is standing right next to the access point, I am only able to get 12.X when using both NetworkManager and netctl, and I can only get 19.X out of Wicd. All of these stats were generated using iperf.
I do admit there is a bottleneck in a switch that I am planning to upgrade from a 100 megabit to a gigabit so I realize that I can only squeeze 100 Mbps out of the network. Still, I would like to be able to achieve that.
I am running a Lenovo Z580.
If you need any other information just let me know and I will post it for you.

You forgot to post the actual question...
Besides everybody knows WiFi is generally crap when it comes to performance and if you really need wireless, you should switch to N 300 Mbps, you know - routers with three aerials
BTW: 12.X? 19.X? What unit is that?
