I maintain the Matlab PKGBUILD. The proprietary Matlab installer unpacks itself into /tmp and then launches a Java based installer. If /tmp is mounted noexec then the packaging fails. Is it reasonable to assume that /tmp is not mounted noexec? If I cannot assume that, is there someplace I can unpack the installer to that I can assume is not mounted noexec?
