[Solved] Steam games - switching game window away with Gnome 3.14

Since Gnome 3.14 has arrived, I'm basically unable to use most of my steam games. The list includes Portal2, TF2, The Cave or Prison Architect but does not include FTL for example.

What happens in the affected games are that once the game is started on every single mouse click the game window goes away (as becoming iconized or hidden). It's seen in the Gnome screen overview and also I can switch to there or via alt+tab but as soon as I click again, it happens again.

Anyone has seen such with the new Gnome? It's really horrible.. I could use any ideas to get rid of this

Edit: Reconfiguring my Gnome from scratch helped me understand the problem. The issue was caused by the "Raise windows automatically" option which can be turned on/off with gnome-tweak tools. It's a sad story as this option would be otherwise useful, if it wouldn't be fully incompatible with most Steam games..

update: I created a new local user, installed Steam and tested Prison Architect, I do not get this bug here. Will try to clean out my user's home, it's probably something bad stuck there..

Thanks that helped a lot.  The games are still a bit sluggish.  I tried XFCE and found that my performance was still what I remember it should be.  Disabling the Raise windows did make my games playable again though.

I found this thread because I was trying to figure out why Robocraft had 0.5FPS under gnome 3.14.

oh and with gnome 3.16 it evens happens with sloppy focus, no matter of the autoraise setting.
