Lenovo T540p reboots when resuming

I have an interesting problem on my T540p that I'm not sure how to debug.

In certain cases the laptop won't resume from suspend - instead when I open the lid, the laptop starts to boot, but then that HDD spindown click is heard and the laptop reboots as if it was powered on.

I can't reliably reproduce this. It happens every time I put the laptop to sleep and travel from point A to point B. However, I'm not sure what the issue is - if I leave the laptop on a desk, it will probably resume fine, regardless of how long I leave it. If I suspend it and then shake it around and try to wake it, it succeeds. It seems to fail only when I travel for some time.

Journal-wise, there doesn't seem to be any significant difference.

What I do find interesting is the fact that the suspend success messages are timestamped when the system resumes. Is this normal behavior?

Does anyone have any ideas on what the problem might be?

[EDIT] Also, a bit more info on the device itself:
It's currently running 3.16.7-1-ck, but the problem appears on the standard kernel as well. Both 3.16 and 3.17.
The root filesystem is BTRFS on a LUKS partition.
There is no dedicated GPU so it's running of the Intel GPU on the CPU.
It's also running Gnome 3.14. This problem was also present during 3.12.
