Hi, since some days, i've several of this messages in the logs:
# grep Withdrawing /var/log/messages.log|grep "Nov 16"|head
Nov 16 00:00:20 localhost avahi-daemon[3794]: Withdrawing workstation service for tun0.
Nov 16 00:00:20 localhost avahi-daemon[3794]: Withdrawing workstation service for tun1.
Nov 16 00:00:21 localhost avahi-daemon[3794]: Withdrawing workstation service for tun2.
Nov 16 00:00:25 localhost avahi-daemon[3794]: Withdrawing workstation service for tun3.
Nov 16 00:00:29 localhost avahi-daemon[3794]: Withdrawing workstation service for tun4.
Nov 16 00:01:22 localhost avahi-daemon[3794]: Withdrawing workstation service for tun0.
Nov 16 00:01:22 localhost avahi-daemon[3794]: Withdrawing workstation service for tun1.
Nov 16 00:01:23 localhost avahi-daemon[3794]: Withdrawing workstation service for tun2.
Nov 16 00:01:28 localhost avahi-daemon[3794]: Withdrawing workstation service for tun3.
Nov 16 00:01:31 localhost avahi-daemon[3794]: Withdrawing workstation service for tun4.
# grep Withdrawing /var/log/messages.log|grep "Nov 16"|wc -l
5944
That's because i've 5 p2p Vpn's that restarts every there and then if there are no remote peers connected.
But i've edited /etc/avahi/avahi-daemon.conf so that:
deny-interfaces=tun0,tun1,tun2,tun3,tun4
...and the man pages states (man avahi-daemon.conf)
deny-interfaces= Set a comma separated list of network interfaces that should be ignored by avahi-daemon. Other not specified interfaces will be used, unless allow-interfaces= is set. This option takes precedence over allow-interfaces=.
...and as i edit the configuration file, i've this in the logs:
localhost avahi-daemon[3794]: Files changed, reloading.
So, what's the deal?
Thanks for reading.

Is it related to https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=189887 ?

Yes, more or less.
By now i masked the service and i'm fine. (-edit- no more messages in the log)
What bothers me is that even if i edited the avahi config file and explicitely tell it to ignore tun* interfaces, it still floods the log with those messages.
I mean... probably it won't use them because of my edit, so i wonder why it keeps telling me informations about those interfaces.
(-edit- read: if in the future i will be in the need of using avahi, the masking workaround couldn't be of any use)

Too bad, masking it does NOT solve the issue.
