I will admit I liked the Mac OS X Mail app when I was using a Mac. However, I've been using Thunderbird for a few years now, and it was OK after all the tweaks I made. That being said, I'm ready for something better. Important things I'm looking for:
1. Supports GPG
2. No email/database corruption (i.e. no ghost emails, deleted emails don't reappear, etc)
3. Extensible
4. Unified folders
Any recommendations? Thanks.

I don't understand. Doesn't Thunderbird support all of those features? What are your conditions for deciding whether or not something is better than Thunderbird?
Did you experience email / database corruption in Thunderbird? That's not supposed to happen. If it meets all of your other needs it might be worth it to just try to figure out why that's happening and fix it.
Anyway, here's the list of email clients: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Li … il_clients Just browse through them, pick one that looks good, and try it out.

Yes, the database corruption. I don't know how I ended up with a couple pages of ghost emails, but I couldn't clear them by any method (deletion, deleting .msf files, compacting folders, etc).
I've read that list, thanks. I was just curious about other peoples' opinion - more info for what's commonly used. So far mutt looks good.

Mutt is very different from apple mail or thunderbird. If you are looking for something like one of those two I doubt mutt would fit the bill. But mutt is amazing once you learn to use it. One added bonus of mutt is that it will likely be very easy to get support for it on these forums - mutt is very popular among archers (or at least among those that frequent the forums).
Edit: but I do have one nagging wish about something aesthetic that mutt can't do. The link above allowed me to discover 'alot' which looks very promising. I'm not sure I'll convert ... but I'll check it out.

Despite the occasional (sometimes fairly involved) blips, I have always came back to Thunderbird. The main other graphical option (that I found, that is) would be Claws or Evolution/KMail depending on your DE preference. All support GPG, the first two support extensions, and I'm not sure about a unified mailbox on any of them.
If you want to try out something new, as others have said, Mutt would be a good choice. But if you just want a solid full-featured email client, Thunderbird is probably your best bet.

Thanks for all of the suggestions. I'm trying Mutt out right now.
