Hi!
I am having some screen blanking problems with my laptop running the 3.16.1 kernel with Xfce 4.10. No matter how I tries to disable blanking, the screen always goes black after 10-30 seconds. The exact timing seems to be random. Sometimes it blanks for only about a second, but often it blanks until pointer movement. Besides having tried the standard xfce4-power-manager, I have also tried to disable dpms and disabling everything power related with xset. Searching this forum and Google have turned up nothing usefull. I simple have no idea what causes this annoying screen blanking. I hope some of you might be able to help me?
I have upower disabled due to this bug. Could that mean anything?
Thanks in advance!

Welcome to Arch, can't help you with the blanking thing.
Only have a question, why are we not up to date?, that kernel is from the the 'middle ages'

I have experienced similar in the past and it transpired it was my VDU (1 year old LG 22" TV) that was at fault.

Haha, mostly because of a proprietary wifi driver so I tend to lag a few months behind. But you are probable right I should try upgrade it again

Hmm, you should , yes.
Are you simply not updated at all, or walking behind with a few?
What video card are you using?
