Cpu is i5-4690 haswell , and use Intel HD4600 as gpu.
The monitor is LED TV monitor which get HDMI and D-sub. and is conneted to HDMI.
I installed alsa and sound works well , but can't control volume in some program.
In flashplayer in firefox and game(heroes of newerth) can control volume,
But in audacious for example, when Mixer device is set " hw:0(HDA Intel HDMI)", error message is
ALSA error: No sutable mixer elemnet found.
ALSA error:snd_mixer_find_selem failed.
other hw:1 (HDA intel PCH), no error message, but still can't control volume.
When execute alsamixer, I can see only S/PDIF, S/PDIF 1, S/PIF 2.
Clinking F6 in alsamixer, there are 2 options- "0 HDA Intel HDMI", and "1 HDA Intel PCH".
When choose "1 HDA Intel PCH", I can see all volume control option. Master, PCM, Front........but it doesn;t sound.
My setting is like that...
"$aplay -l " output is
card 0: HDMI [HDA Intel HDMI], device 3: HDMI 0 [HDMI 0]
Subdevices: 1/1
Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
card 0: HDMI [HDA Intel HDMI], device 7: HDMI 1 [HDMI 1]
Subdevices: 1/1
Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
card 0: HDMI [HDA Intel HDMI], device 8: HDMI 2 [HDMI 2] <--------It works.
Subdevices: 1/1
Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
card 1: PCH [HDA Intel PCH], device 0: ALC892 Analog [ALC892 Analog]
Subdevices: 1/1
Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
card 1: PCH [HDA Intel PCH], device 1: ALC892 Digital [ALC892 Digital]
Subdevices: 1/1
Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
and .asoundrc is
pcm.!default {
type hw
card 0
device 8
}
I wonder why it can be controlled in firefox flash and game, but alsamixer and (pepper)flash in chromium, vlc can;t.
And how solve it??
Thanks for reading, even bad English.
