Hi all,
I followed this guide https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/NVIDIA to install and configure my NVIDIA card.
No error messages were reported during the installation via "pacman -S nvidia-340xx"
I tried the minimal configuration and the automatic configuration mentioned in the article and rebooted.
When i want to start the xserver with startxfce4 the monitor goes black for 2 seconds and throws me back to the command line.
It would be nice if someone could help me.

[ 47.724] (EE) Server terminated successfully (0). Closing log file.
I'd say your issue is with XFCE, not X...
Offline
Ok, and what should I do now?
I reinstalled xfce4 and copied /etc/skel/.xinitrc and /etc/skel/.xsession to ~/ and added exec startxfce4 to .xinitrc. I rebooted but nothing changes. I still have to type startxfce4 and the same thing happens that I described above
Edit:
I checked wether the file /usr/lib/xorg/modules/extensions/libglx.so exists, and yes it does but it points to a .so file which doesn't exist (/usr/lib/nvidia/xorg/modules/extensions/libglx.so.343.22).

I fixed this by pointing to /usr/lib/nvidia/xorg/modules/extensions/libglx.so.340.58, this file exists.
But I have still the same problems
Here is the new log

Edit2:
Solved it on my own. The hint with xfce was good though.
xfce4-session tried to load /usr/lib/libEGL.so.1 and /usr/lib/LibGL.so.1. These files weren't present.
They were in /usr/lib/nvidia/ as shown here https://www.archlinux.org/packages/extr … ils/files/
so pointing to them did it.
