Have only base and base-devel installed.
At boot, I see the message " kernel: nouveau E[ VBIOS][0000:01:00.0] 0x64da[0]: script needs connector type"
I dont find it in the journal log until I have run
$ lspci
W540 kernel: nouveau E[ VBIOS][0000:01:00.0] 0x64da[0]: script needs connector type
and then it is right at the top.
$ lspci | grep -e VGA -e 3D
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 4th Gen Core Processor Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 06)
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation GK107GLM [Quadro K1100M] (rev a1)
The BIOS settings do not allow me to disable either of the GPUs, can only change setting related to docking the laptop.
I am nowhere near an arch guru despite having used it for 4 years now.
After a few hours on reading online I thought I'd go ahead and install Xorg and video drivers and bumblebee, but bumblebee daemon wont run and I keep coming up against the above kernel nouveau message.
Any help is appreciated.
[EDIT]
after trying bumblebee with INTEL/NVIDIA and then trying nouveau/PRIME and back to INTEL/NVIDIA the nouveau error went away by inself.
In reading https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=187061 other folks also have this problem
Openbox is up.
