That sounds really strange to me. Why would transfering the menu over dbus require a specific widget style?

Well, this is a snapshot with dolphin (the first button triggers the menu) and konversation (no menu button there). This is in a plain KDE 4 installation from extra.

Ah yes, of course if you want Qt5 apps to use the oxygen style you need to have the Qt5 version of oxygen installed. If you want oxygen so bad, you can try to create an oxygen package that contains only the widget style and remove everything else (sounds, cursors, windecos), this shouldn't conflict with KDE4.

Yep, I'm going to do just that.

You're mixing window decoration style and widget style. The window manager (kwin) is responsible for drawing the window decoration buttons, regardless of the actual toolkit used by the application. The fact that the menu button is not shown in konversation has nothing to do with the style, it is caused by konversation not exporting its menu (probably because of missing appmenu-qt5)

Re: KDE Applications 14.12 repo

I have another problem with the key sad

root@celerondomain elmoska]# pacman-key -r 941C2A25
gpg: key 941C2A25: "Antonio Rojas <arojas@archlinux.org>" not changed
gpg: Total number processed: 1
gpg:              unchanged: 1
==> Actualizando la base de datos de claves en las que se confía...
gpg: next trustdb check due at 2016-01-22
root@celerondomain elmoska]# pacman -Su
error: kde-beta: signature from "Antonio Rojas <arojas@archlinux.org>" is marginal trust
error: la base de datos 'kde-beta' no es válida (base de datos no válida o dañada (firma PGP))

This is a gnupg 2.1 bug? I have tried with refresh keys and pacman -Syy, but the problem remains. sad

Re: KDE Applications 14.12 repo

hi @bullanguero89, to workaround that problem I downgraded temporaly gnupg to 2.0.26 and gpgme to 1.5.1 versions, after that sign the key and after an normal update with repo signed.  I'd read about this gnupg issue in [arch-devel-public] mail list and soon will be an official solution.

Works for me. Since neither kdepim nor kdelibs will be released in 14.12, I doubt this is a kde-beta issue. Try removing and re-adding the calendar.

Re: KDE Applications 14.12 repo

@bullanguero89: This error is caused by you not signing the key using pacman-key --lsign-key 941C2A25.

error: kde-beta: signature from "Antonio Rojas <arojas@archlinux.org>" is marginal trust
error: la base de datos 'kde-beta' no es válida (base de datos no válida o dañada (firma PGP))

However, there's a separate issue which makes @desaparecido's reply relevant.

Re: KDE Applications 14.12 repo

Hey antonio, would you mind rebuildung your repo against frameworks 5.5? The update today broke konsole, dolphin, kate and more on my machine. hmm

It's not Frameworks 5.5, it's the Qt 5.4 update. It should be fixed in kdelibs4support 5.5-2

Re: KDE Applications 14.12 repo

hi @rumpelsepp, probably you have a similar issue like me and rebuilding kdelibs4support (after qt 5.4 update) all works fine

Edit:  ohh, new update for kdelibs4support ! thanks @arojas

Re: KDE Applications 14.12 repo

Does anyone else have an issue with Kate not being possible to open from Dolphin?

Error message: KDEinit could not launch '/usr/bin/kate'

Also... for some reason I explicitly need to install and upgrade each kde-beta package. Probably something stupid I forgot to do.... but why is it not automatically overiding the "extra" repository when I do pacman -Syu?

If you want the [kde-beta] repository to have priority over [extra], then you need to put it above the [extra] repository entry in /etc/pacman.conf (this is why [testing] is above everything else and [community-testing] above [community] wink )

Known issue, unfortunately it's not fixed in 14.12 final.

[kde-beta] needs to be *above* [extra] in pacman.conf

Would be better to have the official packages updated with latest versions I guess.

It will probably go in extra eventually.  Usually it takes anywhere from 1 hour to two weeks. smile

Not really, I suppose they will be in the official repos soon enough and there aren't any critical fixes.

Are they going to reuse the KDE4 packages or upload new ones? Apparently a lot of the KDE4 packages are now orphan...

Re: KDE Applications 14.12 repo

kate is broken now (with extra/libgit2 1:0.21.1-2), probably needs a rebuild.
A workaround is to disable the «projects» kate plugin.
