nvidia conflicts with libgl-dri. Remove libgl-dri
This happened when I tried to upgrade today.
I though xorg would be the last, but it seems not.

If you're using nvidia binary drivers, you don't need libgl-dri. They both provide "libgl". You only need one of these at a time.

This still doesn't explain how to fix the problem. I don't even have libgl-dri installed and I still get the error. I don't know what's with Arch as of late, I've never had so many package conflict errors when doing upgrades.

It's probably old files from xorg 6.8. You can force the install:
pacman -Sf nvidia

Has XOrg 7 recently moved to a stable version? I don't use the testing repo so it's beyond me why as of late I get some sort of package conflict literally every single time I go to upgrade packages. This is getting pathetic.

Yes, xorg 7 is now in current repo. http://www.archlinux.org/news.php#203

So I made the jump to Xorg 7, what a mess that was. I can't tell you how many libraries I had to manually install. I'd run startx, would spit out a library it was missing, install library, try again. I did this about 10 times. Next issue: anyone have any luck installing nvidia drivers? For the time being I have to use the nv driver since I can't install the binary drivers because of, big surprise, more file conflicts.

force it.
