not dialogues in 5.1 mkv videos

Hello.

I have pulseaudio with alsa configured for 5.1 channels going trough a hdmi, but when playing 5.1 channel mkv movies i can only hear the ambiental sound and music, but not dialogues or voices cant be heard. If i change them to stereo, they can be heard

I have tried with mplayer and vlc and both have the same problem.
