Netbooks - kernel and optimization

1. Is this feasible to use the EOL kernel from AUR? Will there be any problems at some point?

2. Are there any significant performance tweaks apart from https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/AS … cy_scaling  ?   Hardware video acceleration perhaps?

Re: Netbooks - kernel and optimization

Ah, sorry. I deploy linux systems on people's netbooks and notebooks so the answer would be: hardware popular around 2008. Two models I have in mind specifically are ASUS Eee 1005PA and 1001HA.

Re: Netbooks - kernel and optimization

Graphics depend on specific hardware e.g. https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Poulsbo or https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Intel_GMA3600 could be a PITA.

ASUS Eee 1005PA has Intel Atom N450 cpu with Graphics Media Accelerator 3150 gpu.
