[REQUEST] Python Module: Academic Markdown [solved]

Hi,

I tried to create a PKGBUILD for Python Module Academic Markdown:

It fails with the following error:

  File "/home/orschiro/VCS/PKGBUILD/python-academicmarkdown/src/academicmarkdown-release-0.8.1/academicmarkdown/__init__.py", line 267, in <module>
    from _BaseParser import BaseParser
ImportError: No module named '_BaseParser'
==> ERROR: A failure occurred in package().
    Aborting...

The BaseParser module seems to be part of academicmarkdown itself. It is located in the academicmarkdown folder. It is, however, beyond my knowledge why it cannot be found then.

I appreciate your help.

It doesn't appear to be compatible with python3, the setup.py works with python2, however.

Thanks! I could have tried that myself. Indeed, with python2 it does work.

I added python2-academicmarkdown to the AUR.

I'm not sure whether it's supposed to be compatible with python3 as well (the project page is ambiguous), so you may want to ask the developer to clarify -- you may have found a bug.

The developer confirmed that his module is python2 only.
