steam on Eee pc 900

So I know a lot of games I shouldn't even try running on such weak hardware but I was willing to try and run low graphic games being I'm bored at work. I'm trying to run a game called Spacebase DF-9 I installed steam fine and it installed the game however when I launch the game I just get a window border with the game title and a black screen for about 3 mins. then it closes by itself anyone have a solution besides the obvious which would be to by a new gaming laptop with windows.

maybe is just a game fault and not a steam fault?
