rt2500 driver package

Hello,

I have a rt2500 based wireless network card, and I've been having some inconveniences with it. As far as i know, there is no binary package of the driver, so I can't just download and install, so i have to compile the module. This requires the kernel source so when I install arch, i compile my own kernel. I was wondering if there is a way for me to create my own binary package that I can install on the stock arch kernel so I don't have to compile my own kernel every time.

Re: rt2500 driver package

Unless things have changed recently, this doesn't work with the stock kernel because it has SMP enabled - this leads to the driver hanging as soon as the interface is configured.

I had to recompile the kernel just taking out the SMP to get it to work.

Re: rt2500 driver package

Theres no easy solution here. THe best thing would be to wait for rt2x00 to reach a somewhat usable state, in which case, yes I will definitely put it in the repos.
