Since mesa-dri was removed I am experiencing serious rendering problems, especially with chromium in tool tips along with considerably slow downs.
Also there are gray squares from pcmanfm which remain after dialogues or context menus which only disappear after restart of x-server.
After reverting most of the updates it pointed out that the latest mesa updates seem to be responsible for that issue:
[PACMAN] removed mesa-dri (10.3.5-1)
[PACMAN] upgraded mesa (10.3.5-1 -> 10.4.1-1)When I downgrade mesa and reinstall mesa-dri everything works normal again.
Using xf86-video-ati on Radeon HD 6310
Can anyone confirm these issues and perhaps place a bug report about it?
Edit:
Package: mesa (10.4.1-1); mesa-libgl 10.4.1-1
Architecture: 3.17.6-1-ARCH x86_64
Device: VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Wrestler [Radeon HD 6310]
Video-Driver: xf86-video-ati 1:7.5.0-1
DE: LXDE
The programm most affected is chromium 39.0.2171.95-1 (tooltips on tabs and bookmarks rendering issues).

Hmm, I'm running the same driver + HD 6310 with mesa 10.4.1-1 without problems so far. Using KDE, so I think the artifacts would've appeared by now if I was affected.
edit: I'm using the linux-ck kernel though, which is at 3.18.1-3 (vs. official@3.17.6), so maybe the problem appears in combination with 3.17 and mesa 10.4.1-1?

The rendering issues still persists with updates
mesa 10.4.2-1
mesa-libgl 10.4.2-1
Had to downgrade to mesa 10.3.5-1 and reinstall mesa-dri 10.3.4-1 again.

No one else using LXDE, Chromium, xf86-video-ati with Radeon HD 6310 and experiencing the same problems?
Issue persists with :
mesa 10.4.3-1
mesa-libgl 10.4.3-1
mesa-vdpau 10.4.3-1
and
chromium 40.0.2214.94-1
As there are often fragments of lxpanel showing up in these interferences I assume there might be a relation between lxpanel and chromes 'aura' graphics stack causing this issue?

I see something similar, I'm using XFCE and everything is up-to-date. My card is anHD2400 (RV610) and I see the artifacts with either EXA or Glamour acceleration.

I'm running chromium in openbox and experience exactly the same issues. I also get some corruption in the top right corner of chromium when exiting from the fullscreen HTML5 Youtube player:
Since the last mesa update (10.4.3-1 -> 10.4.4-1) my system will freeze after loading the radeon module. I was able to fix this by booting with radeon.dpm=0. Unfortunately, rolling back mesa does not seem to fix this issue.
mesa 10.4.4-1, mesa-libgl 10.4.4-1, mesa-vdpau 10.4.4-1, chromium 40.0.2214.111-1, xf86-video-ati 1:7.5.0-1 (Radeon HD 5770)

I am seeing similar tooltip corruption on a brand new installation - Openbox/compton, everything up to date, xf86-video-ati with r7 260x.

Same problem here with mesa 10.4.5-1 and catalyst-total-hd234k.
It's almost impossible to use chromium with those issues!

I have the same sort of artifacts but all over my screen on a Radeon HD 6250. It makes the device totally useless, any clues? I've had this issue for some time. Tried tweaking X configs but no avail. I have the issue with GNOME, KDE, LXQT and even Unity. However, everything's fine on Awesome TWM, which isn't fun to use on a tablet.

mesa-dri was merged into mesa, try installing all these packages - https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 5#p1507685

Unfortunately, that did not help at all.

I worked on my AMD/Radeon based machine locally for a bit, and it seems I'm having this too, albeit partially. Only chromium seems to be affected from what I noticed.

I have the same problems with Mobility Radeon HD 5450 and 3.0 Mesa 10.5.4. Is there any update on this problem?
