Hi everybody,
recently I am having issues with pacaur.
When trying to update using:
pacaur -SyuI get a list of packages that need to be updated, however when I say to install the updates, they seem to get downloaded and built (except for one whose url returns a 404 error),
but then the next time I try the update they are still there (the same version of course!).
I already tried to rebuild and reinstall cower as suggested in other posts, but that didn't help. I also rebuild pacaur manually (it was one of the packages which required an update, and after the manual intervention it is no longer listed).
Here it is the output of pacaur -Syu:
luca@np350v:~$ pacaur -Syu

You're not the only one getting a 404 on the sources for samsung-unified-driver.
Claire is fine.
Problems? I have dysgraphia, so clear and concise please.

Thanks ewaller for moving to the right thread!
cifarron4, while I understand that there might be issues with the specific samsung-unfified-driver package, I do not understand why the others do not get updated?
Every time I run pacaur -Syu I get the same list of packages. Does this imply that if the installation of one package fails the other ones do not get updated?
Also, why the dependencies checks are skipped?

It doesn't look like the packages are built, it just extracts the sources. I don't use pacaur, but it seems like it's calling 'makepkg -o', rather than just 'makepkg'.

Yes, makepkg -o first then makepkg -e right after (to check all integrity/gpg issues first).
To produced a debug output, read the wiki page.

Hi Spyhawk, thanks for pointing me out on how to debug what is going on.
Tonight I run "bash -x pacaur -Syu", but the samsung packgage was available and all the packages have been installed successfully.
Probably there was some temporary issue with one of the packages, but now everything worked as usual.
Thanks for helping me with this!
Cheers,
Luca

I have this problem for sometime. Right now I am using yaourt and it can update my packages, fine!

mmrezaie, you should've posted a new thread as this ones last post is 7 months old and a different issue.
However, quickly checking the AUR for a few packages you listed, it appears that they really don't exist. Recently the AUR got an overhaul and packages that didn't get updated were removed.
See this post for details and this section of the wiki for help finding some of the abandoned packages.
I think I know enough to know I don't know enough.

Seven months is at the edge of what I consider to be an old thread, but Silkworm205 hit the nail on the head, the problem here is the recent conversion to aur4 and that no one saw fit to pick up those packages. I am going to go head and close this thread. There are other threads discussing the change over to aur4, so if the links silkworm provided don;t help, you might continue in the other threads. Thanks
