KF5, plasma-next, drag&drop from folderview fails

Hi there
I'm not sure if i'm the only one experiencing this, since I cannot find any other mention anywhere.
Since I upgraded to plasma-next a few months ago, I've been unable to drag and drop files from "the desktop" (aka folder view plasmoid) to... well, anywhere -dolphin, chromium, gimp, etc-
Note that it works fine the other way around, from dolphin to the folderview plasmoid -or any other app-

My system is up to date, with the following versions -among other packages-:

  • extra/plasma-desktop 5.1.2-1 (plasma-next) [installed]

  • extra/kdebase-dolphin 14.12.1-2 (kde kdebase) [installed]

  • extra/kdeplasma-addons-frameworks 5.1.2-2 (plasma-next) [installed]

  • extra/kwin 5.1.2-1 (plasma-next) [installed]

  • extra/plasma-workspace 5.1.2-5 (plasma-next) [installed]

Anyone else noticing it?

Re: KF5, plasma-next, drag&drop from folderview fails

Same problem here: folderview fails on the desktop.
Also, konsole does not restore: multiple tabs are never restored at login, and konsole itself is sometimes not restored either.

Re: KF5, plasma-next, drag&drop from folderview fails

I used to be able to drag-and-drop from Dolphin to Chrome. It doesn't work any more... :-(

Actually it appears to be a Chrome bug, since it works in Firefox.

Your system is NOT up to date. Your plasma desktop is version 5.1, newest version is 5.4

I have something similar with dolphin and wine applications since upgrading to 5.4
I've reported it here. As per latest findings, it doesn't seem to be a dolphin bug, but something more general. You should probably comment there as well if the issue persists with latest packages.

edit: well this is confusing. Shaurz, that's the reason we ask to not bump old threads.
