Skype - persisten no mic input issue

I run Gnome Shell with PulseUadio and I keep having the same problem.

In Skype, I have no sound input. Only after getting into Gnome settings/Sound and click on Input tab (just select the tab, no change to anything in it) and only then mic starts registering.

If I reboot, the problem is back on.
