Audio: When trying to record a screencast with every program I've tried, it uses my laptop's mic instead of my headset plugged into the audio jack. I'm using alsa only. The headset works fine in Google Hangouts. I've tried: simplescreenrecorder, recordmydesktop and a couple others. In VLC audio doesn't work at all and in ffmpeg it only records every other word.
Video: works fine in ffmpeg, I get artifacts in recordmydesktop, and the screen is stretched horizontally in simplescreenrecorder and VLC.
I would be satisfied to get any program working I can but I would prefer to get it working in simplescreenrecorder. Pulseaudio causes issues for me so I cannot use anything that requires it.
