Hey,
I recently upgrade to kde5 and I can't seem to find a way to add quick launch button to the panel. It used to be the case in kde4 that you have a quick launch widget that you can put on the panel and then add applications on it. Now I can't do that, and I can't find a solution. I googled for a while and saw couple of people mentioning that they can't get quick launch but no solutions. Any ideas?
Cheers,
Nick

There is a simple trick to it:
open the startmenu and select the icon you want to add (tested with the class start menu)
right click on it and select "Add to panel"

Ok thanks, that works! Unfortunately it only works with classical start menu, not with the default so I didn't notice it...
Maybe I should report it to KDE.
Cheers,

Drag and drop every icon you want to the panel and you are good to go.

I used quicklaunch before switching to plasma to have it on the desktop instead in the panel. It gives me some benefit because i could use different launchers for the same program to use different commandline options.
Seems that quicklaunch isn't available anymore... is there another way to have such behavior i described?
