weird issue with xgamma [SOLVED]

Hi!

i have a strange issue with the backlight xgamma. When the system starts and X is loaded, i can't control it (e.g xgamma -gamma 1.6 has no effect). Also i get:

journalctl -xb
Feb 10 17:42:07 Desktop systemd-backlight[369]: Failed to get backlight or LED device 'backlight:acpi_video0': No such file or directory
Feb 10 17:42:07 Desktop systemd[1]: systemd-backlight@backlight:acpi_video0.service: main process exited, code=exited, status=1/FAILURE
Feb 10 17:42:07 Desktop systemd[1]: Failed to start Load/Save Screen Backlight Brightness of backlight:acpi_video0.

/sys/class/backlight is empty also. The weird thing is that if i start a (random) video with smplayer (using gl video output) and close it, then xgamma and controlling the backlight works! neutral

System is haswell with intel hd 4600. I think the problem started with kernel 3.18 series.

Any suggestions on what's happening?

Re: weird issue with xgamma [SOLVED]

Ok, i misunderstanded, it wasn't the backlight. Running xrandr once, makes xgamma working.
