Not waking from suspend on keypress (Thinkpad x1)

This is one of those things that should be obvious but... When I call systemctl suspend manually without closing the lid, I cannot resume from suspend without closing the lid and opening it again.
What's the procedure for allowing it to wake on key press?

Pressing the Fn button (until you see the laptop waking up) works for me (T23).

It works! I still have no idea where this is configured though? It would be good to update the wiki.
