partition question

Hi,

When I type df -h i the following comes up:

Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/sda3 6.7G 2.5G 3.8G 40% /
none 375M 0 375M 0% /dev/shm
/dev/sda1 76M 9.2M 63M 13% /boot
/dev/sda4 103G 8.5G 90G 9% /home

Now what are the one mounted on /dev/shm?

Sincerely, Jorgen

Re: partition question

It is socalled "POSIX Shared Memory", a tmpfs. It's AFAIK used to allow multiple programs to access the same data in memory.
