My system is on an endless Boot -> Crash loop after doing an update. I get a single error message of "[FAILED] Failed to start Load Kernel Modules" and then shortly after that the system just reboots. My HDD is encrypted. How can I find more information about what is causing the crash? Can I skip loading modules during boot? How could I boot with a USB stick and then open the encrypted disk?
Any pointers are much appreciated!

I have no experience with full disk encryption, so I can't help with that. But this wiki page will give you many approaches to gather more information. The "break=y" at least would be a good test.
