A lot of crazy things going on! (Solve)

Hey there. I've got a fresh install of arch and I'm having a number of issues, and I've skimmed the forums for a long while but no go

- alsaconf won't run and crashed the terminal window it's in
- many gnome panel issues, which I've addressed in http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?p=146983#146983
- pacman problems when trying to install things like amarok

any little bit helps so help me out least take a stab in the dark at this

That is really weird stuff... Could you elaborate on the Pacman problems? I'm pretty sure I don't know what's going on, but someone else might, and knowing more about what's going on could be helpful.

fixed it myself, no worries, just had a previous wine on there that a friend and I tailored towards pentium 4 and World of Warcraft

If this helps anyone.... Installing from the old .7 cd caused quite a few problems upon updating, and conflicts with the kernel and udev. If anything like I've had happens to you, and you can't fix it any other way, the best thing to do is get the latest Arch release ISO and install that, working like a charm too
