using latest boot ISO and trying to boot it via USB on my IBM NetVista results in an eternal blinking cursor.
going to test the media on my desktop as soon as I'm done writing this, wanted to get this written before I forget. If it doesn't work I guess I'll have to figure out how to keep people from responding to this topic, if it does work then I'll be confused and need this.
this specific NetVista has 256 MB of RAM, a Pentium 4 at 2.0 GHz, and integrated graphics with 64mb of dedicated memory I think? Those might be issues (but I'd say they probably aren't)
EDIT: Yes, it works on my main computer.
It was written using the main automatic method in the arch wiki for writing a bootable USB with arch for those already using linux.
EDIT: Adding [sorta-solved] because this is an issue I can't work around with what I have right now that is thanks to the age of the computer.

You need an i686 (or later) processor for Arch.

EDIT: Sorry, displaying my ignorance there -- ignore me...

after testing with an i486 Gentoo install on the device, I can confirm that this problem is actually not related to arch at all
I just need to figure out why it's not booting from USB
I should note that booting from USB is important in this case since I didn't have enough ribbon cables to set up the CD drive (which sucks because if I could've, CD audio!)
