The Bitcoin wiki makes no mention of the bitcoin-cli package.
When I follow the wiki instructions, I end up with only a single binary (/usr/bin/bitcoind) and when I attempt to run it from the command line I get this:
$ bitcoind help
Error: There is no RPC client functionality in bitcoind anymore. Use the bitcoin-cli utility instead.
And now it looks like Bitcoin Core from bitcoin.org was split up into two packages:
bitcoin-daemon and bitcoin-cli
Just wondering why that was done. Also, how might I go about reviewing other changes to the Bitcoin Core upstream that were made in packaging it for Arch?

Hmm... Sorry. Just noticed this. So is that separation in the upstream code then? I see now that it clearly is.
I'll see if I can make some small changes to the wiki to bring to light the fact that it might be desirable to install one, two, or all three of the upstream tools: bitcoind, bitcoin-cli, and bitcoin-qt.
