Help diagnosing display issue [solved]

After upgrading some packages last week I'm getting lots of screen flickers and lots of screen crashes. Screen goes black apart from a line of orange dots. All I can do is hold the power down and restart.

I've checked out various logs, but I've got no ideas so far. Anyone have any to offer? I can post logs as requested. Thanks

Just had another crash. journalctl
