nouveuau failed to idle channel 0xcccc0002

Hey everyone.

I'm back to ArchLinux now after trying jessie for a bit. I've installed steam and the nouveau drivers, and it seems steam somehow makes it so I can't resume after suspending. I can normally suspend/resume fine, but if I either have steam running or try to start steam after resuming X crashes and I get the error in the title. This seems to happen for both Xmonad and Gnome, and I'm not sure where to go from here or what more information is needed.

I've found this same error a few different times on Google, but it is always for errors from years ago as I'm pretty sure this error is general.

Should I maybe go upstream? If so, should I go to Steam or nouveuau?
