Hi, what about Polish users? We have several hundrets Polish archlinux users and I think a lot of us use openoffice. So request for developers please add polish language package

I agree. It would be VERY nice to have Polish language in openoffice. There is something in AUR but it's out-of-date and not official. So please...
Oops, I checked and it's up-to-date so why it's not official?

Because:
1) I made the PKGBUILD and I'm not a TU.
2) You didn't vote?

Sounds like there shouldn't be a problem getting the votes to put OOo-pl into community. There's five there already - get another 20 and I'll promote it for you.
Offline
should I have an account in AUR, if I want to vote?
Offline
You should indeed.

ok I voted for it, tomorrow I'll ask my to mates and archlinux users for votes? Or I know I will describe problem on polish forum!

13 votes now.
Democracy in action - I love it!

27 now - better get to work..
<a few minutes later>
The package is now built and uploaded. It will take a short while to show up in the AUR, and a longer while to get out on the mirrors.
Excellent voting, everyone - I've nothing to back this up, but I reckon 22 votes in 24 hours has to be a record. If anyone thinks AUR voting doesn't work, or is a waste of time, show them this thread.
Thanks to MAC!EK also, for an excellent PKGBUILD - no changes necessary.

I try to do my best

tomk could you also add openoffice-spell-pl to community?
http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?d … s=0&SeB=nd
Only the version date should be changed and md5sum refreshed.
Offline
No problem - I'll do it this evening.

OOo-spell-pl is now in [community], based on swistak's original PKGBUILD. I would appreciate some early feedback on this, as I don't have the necessary language skills to test it.

Did a quick test and it seems to work like charm!
Thanks!

Google tells me I should say "Prosze", or maybe "Nie ma za co", but I should probably stick to "You're welcome". Anyway, you should thank everyone who voted. They made it possible - I'm just doing my job.

tomk it would be nice if You check the PKGBUILD I send in AUR for openoffice-pl.
New PKGBUILD for openoffice-pl. The sources downloaded and made by http://ux.pl
This package has help files in polish, not only the interface(as before)

If that's the only difference, couldn't the help files be extracted from ux.pl?
AFAIK they're kept in a separate folder (/opt/openoffice/help/pl ?). It would be much much easier to just download an additional package for help files rather than a whole separate package of openoffice.
Tak czy tak, dobra robota

In the package there are only PL helpfiles, interface translations, and some templates(?).
Chyba nie sprawdziłeś pakietu, dprawdź zawartość pakietu to zobaczysz co tam jest dokładnie.

Guys - I'm going to do this today - sorry for the delay, MAC!EK, and thanks for the new PKGBUILD. Can you confirm what you need? Is it the PKGBUILD as supplied, or is it just the help files?
Offline
I don't understand what are You asking me
I made that PKGBUILD to build openoffice-pl from different source which provides also translated help files for OO.

OK - I'll clarify. I don't use the package as you know, just maintain it, so I'm keen to make sure it does what actual users want it to do. Neuro seems to be suggesting a different approach, so I'd be interested in relevant comments from anyone who uses the package.

I think Neuro thought ( :> ) that it's an openoffice package, not only polish language files.
