/proc process hangs

Hi,

I'm having a weird issue the last couple of days.  Processes hang when I look up certain processes in /proc.   E.g. I do

ls /proc/*

and it hangs at /proc/25431.  With root is also hangs when I do /proc/25431/cmdline.  I'm not sure what caused this, and I'm not sure how to debug it.   Following this post I tried to figure out if it was a cgroup issue, but it doesn't seem like it...  Any hints on how I could figure out what causes the hanging?

Thanks,
Rasmus

Re: /proc process hangs

No clue.  One hanging application had an empty cmdline when checking with root.  For another I couldn't cat the cmdline even with root, but I think the comm file said gnome-contacts (which I now removed).  I doubt gnome-contacts is the real issue, though, but something network related may be...

I don't really know how to get solid information in this sitation about which program is causing the issue.  Hence the thread.
