Hal

Hal reconize my dvd and cdrom and opens in kde - new window - when dvd is inserted. But that doesnt work with usb mp3player !

sda is created, but hal doesnt reconize it. Why? I can mount /dev/sda1 manualy, but hal must do it for me.

I tried all different fstab entries.

Re: Hal

Hal has major problems with hardware ignoring several standards. The developper adds patch to patch ...
From my experiences, I have strange issues using hal with my sata dvdrw - whole system freezes (but also in windows tongue)  - while my usb stick works nice.
Btw. Hal ignores fstab entries.
