Packages (x86_64 only) are available for testing in the official [kde-unstable] repo.
New applications in this release: kdenlive, telepathy-kde
Ported to KF5 in this release:
- kdeadmin: kcron
- kdeedu: blinken, cantor, kbruch, kgeography, kiten klettres, kmplot, kstars, kturtle, kwordquiz, rocs, step
- kdegames: bomber, bovo, granatier, kapman, katomic, kblackbox, kblocks, kbounce, kbreakout, kdiamond, kfourinline, killbots, kjumpingcube, klines, kmines, knetwalk, kollision, kpatience, kshisen, ksquares
- kdegraphics: kruler
- kdesdk: kompare, lokalize
- kdeutils: filelight, kcalc, kcharselect, ktimer, print-manager
- kdetoys: kteatime
Please report packaging issues to bugs.archlinux.org (using [kde-unstable] in the description), upsteam issues to bugs.kde.org
Known packaging issues:
- cantor is missing, compilation fails at the moment
- kdeartwork is not packaged, it's mostly stuff for KDE4 which hasn't been updated for years. Same for kde-wallpapers, kde-base-artwork.
- l10n packages are not available, so new KF5 apps will not be translated
- rocs depends on grantlee-qt5, which conflicts with grantlee-qt4, so currently can't be coinstalled with some KDE4 apps such as kdepim, kdevelop or skrooge. Hopefully will be fixed before the final release.

Update: Packages are now in the official [kde-unstable] repo, I will not update the old repo anymore.

It looks like telepathy-kde 15.03.90 not works with KF5.8. ktp-contactlist needs libKPeopleWidgets.so.5 which is not provided by KPeople 5.8.
ktp-contactlist
ktp-contactlist: error while loading shared libraries: libKPeopleWidgets.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
libKPeopleWidgets.so.5 is a part of kpeople-git, but it need to rebuild all KF5 to kf5-git.

The issue is that telepathy-kde packages in my old repo were built against a kpeople git snapshot (5.8 wasn't released yet), but [kde-unstable] packages are built against 5.8, and there has been an ABI break in kpeople in between. My bad, I should have bumped the telepathy packages pkgrel when moving to [kde-unstable]. For now just reinstall all telepathy-kde pakages from [kde-unstable].

THX for info. After reinstallation, KTP works perfectly.

Could you please add Qt 5.5 Alpha to the kde-unstable repo?
http://blog.qt.io/blog/2015/03/17/qt-5- … available/
HDMI is broken in Qt 5.4.1 (applications crashes when you plug and unplug the HDMI cable, including plasmashell). It was finally fixed in 5.5.

No, this should definitely be in a different repo. Qt 5.5 will not be released until May, so KDE 15.04 needs to be tested with Qt 5.4, which is the version that will be available when it's released. Adding Qt 5.5 could introduce additional bugs that prevent properly testing KDE apps.

OK. I've noticed such bugs (perhaps all of them are upstream's):
1. Kpatience - After execute it, few elements of desktop stops (i.e.: clock in tray has frozen time), on exit it's popup with info: KDEInit cannot execute /usr/bin/kpat.
2. Telepathy don't remember (at least) any Google+ accounts setting (I can add this account, but Telepathy cannot remember password to it, and in new session, my account has forgotten). Telepathy can remember my jabber account (with password), but when I try to connect, password is forgotten (and so on, after about 30 min. KTP asks me about my password). I can chat via Jabber protocol.
3. Using KTP make plasmashell significantly increases the demand for CPU. Usually, it consumes about 1-2% CPU, after execute of KTP is about 12-15%.
EDIT ad. 3.
After some inspections: this is increase is caused by mission-control process. It not consumes CPU at all (and has very small RAM's demands but when it is initialized, plasmashell consumes 1000% more CPU (12-15%) then previously.

Any chance you could make such repo?

Yep, same for other apps like kruler and kcharselect. I already reported a few, hopefully will be fixed before release.

I also had issues with the automatically migrated accounts, it kept constantly asking for the password. I ended up wiping all traces of the old accounts (which took some effort, as they are stored in a few different places) and recreating them, no issues since then.

No Qt5 Dolphin in this release?
No. Both: Dolphin and all KDE-Baseapps will be in 15.08.
Personally I use dolphin-git version (from AUR) and it works pretty well. It depends only on baloo-widgets from git (and AUR). The all other dependencies are in repositories.

I made some packages in order to test some unrelated stuff, feel free to get them from http://pkgbuild.com/~arojas/qt5/
Use at your own risk, I won't make a repo because I don't plan to maintain them any longer or take any requests of bug reports about them.

Thanks. I tested and SDDM was completely broken (elements not at the right place) and the desktop didn't show up after logging in, it looked like everything was crashing. I'll just wait for the official release.

I was going to try this but following the baloo-git dependency, it seems to depend on a lot of git versions (list from Packer):
kguiaddons-git kcodecs-git kauth-git kitemviews-git kconfigwidgets-git sonnet-git kcompletion-git kiconthemes-git ktextwidgets-git kglobalaccel-git attica-git knotifications-git gpgmepp-git kwidgetsaddons-git kxmlgui-git kwindowsystem-git kcoreaddons-git solid-git kwallet-git kjobwidgets-git kbookmarks-git kdbusaddons-git kcrash-git kconfig-git kparts-git kio-git kservice-git kplotting-git kdewebkit-git ki18n-git karchive-git kunitconversion-git kitemmodels-git kinit-git kemoticons-git kdoctools-git kdesignerplugin-git extra-cmake-modules-git kidletime-git kfilemetadata-git kdelibs4support-git baloo-git baloo-widgets-git dolphin-git
Has something changed, or is this what you meant? I'd like to have Kate and Dolphin communicating properly again, and was hoping having both on KF5 would help.

dolphin-git requires a lot of -git packages from AUR

Edit pkgbuild and delete baloo-widgets-git from depends array.
Excuse my poor English.

I've just modified PKGBUILD of baloo-widgets-git:
# Contributor: Andrea Scarpino <andrea@archlinux.org>
pkgname=baloo-widgets-git
pkgver=r408.ebfa75c
pkgrel=1
pkgdesc="A framework for searching and managing metadata"
arch=('i686' 'x86_64')
url='https://projects.kde.org/projects/kde/kdelibs/baloo'
license=('LGPL')
depends=('baloo-frameworks')
makedepends=('extra-cmake-modules' 'git' 'kdoctools')
source=('git://anongit.kde.org/baloo-widgets')
replaces=('baloo-widgets-frameworks-git')
md5sums=('SKIP')
pkgver() {
cd baloo-widgets
printf "r%s.%s" "$(git rev-list --count HEAD)" "$(git rev-parse --short HEAD)"
}
prepare() {
mkdir -p build
}
build() {
cd build
cmake ../baloo-widgets \
-DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=Release \
-DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=/usr \
-DLIB_INSTALL_DIR=lib
make
}
package() {
cd build
make DESTDIR="${pkgdir}" install
}
It depends only on stable baloo-frameworks and... so on, it works.
Then build and install this baloo-widgets-git before dolphin-git, and after that install dolphin-git from AUR. This solutions is for those from us, who want to use baloo with dolphin.

Hey Antonio, I noticed the group kde-applications https://www.archlinux.org/groups/x86_64 … lications/ exists in Extra. Is this the final piece to the puzzle, to have all three KDE parts in Arch? I remember you mentioning on the 14.10 thread (or another) that you were looking into making things better as a group for 15.04.
Edit: ignore me... I'm silly. It's the original group. I misread the wiki ><

Indeed, the kde-applications group can be installed now independently of the plasma version used

Oh, nice! So all the pieces are in place. I'll give this a shot tomorrow. Thanks for the info
