I autostart the module by having added to /etc/modules-load.d and in general it works just fine.

As you can see the module loads just fine, but it's always automatically deregistered again, unless I do it manually.
Why is that and how can I prevent it?
edit: Just delete powerdown-git (or edit the config file) and it's fixed.

What is your hardware?
A Samsung owner in this Ubuntu forums thread used "samsung-tools" (whatever that is) to turn the webcam on:

It's a sony vaio pro 13, so I can't use samsung-tools. Everything works perfectly when loading the module manually.
There surely has to be some way to find out why the module is being deregistered?

Nope, nothin even remotely related to it.

Solved: It was powerdown-git. No idea why it deregisters the video modules when trying to save power though.
