Spiftacity?

Has anyone tried using metacity's new composite manager on arch? And if so, how stable is it?

Re: Spiftacity?

I'll look.  And I'm not sure that spiftacity is the actual name, or just a nickname from ubuntuforums.org

http://www.gnome.org/%7Edavyd/gnome-2-14/

has some info on the new metacity composite mngr

Re: Spiftacity?

It may be a nickname coz i can't find anything about it, Yet i made a PKGBUILD out of ubuntu original source and spiftacity does not conflict with any metacity file, So am not sure, it may be ubuntu's work, i'll look at it

BTW the xorg-air thing, seems like xorg-server to me...

Re: Spiftacity?

Spiftacity was a name of a cvs branch, it was merged in metacity for 2.14

Re: Spiftacity?

I have no crashes with 2.14, so from that viewpoint it's stable.
Totem is not working as expected, for some applications like f-spot, tomboy and others you'll need to compile some stuff yourself to get it working, as it is not in the repos yet.

So if you have time, try it, as things can break. If you don't have time, wait another week for 2.14 to be released and it will hit testing.

When is 2.14 final going to be released? Have they set a date yet?
