Hi, i recently moved to gnome3 and i wish to use the old gnome-panel shortcut to move a window to another workspace.
I configured gnome2 to select the workspace 1/2/3/4.. with Alt + 1/2/3/4... If i held a window using Alt + mouse1, when i press desktop number (1...4) the selected window move to the workspace i was moving to. Example: firefox on workspace 1, press "Alt + mouse1 + 4" on it, gnome2 took firefox to the workspace 4.
Is there a way to replicate this behaviour in gnome3?
Thanks!
Sergio.

Maybe this helps:
https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/ … d-control/

There are a number of default shortcuts to move windows to other workspaces and you can configure some more. See settings/keyboard/shortcuts/navigation. Or am I missing something?

Also looking for a shortcut for moving a window to a workspace of choice, I also came across your question.
After some further research, I found the following solution (one may use other shortcuts, of course):
gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.wm.keybindings move-to-workspace-1 "['<mouse1>F1']"
gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.wm.keybindings move-to-workspace-2 "['<mouse1>F2']"
gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.wm.keybindings move-to-workspace-3 "['<mouse1>F3']"
gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.wm.keybindings move-to-workspace-4 "['<mouse1>F4']"
This moves the current window to the given worksspace (and also switches to that workspace).

Please pay attention to the dates, it might very well be that that functionality wasn't present at the time the question was posted 2 years ago.
Closing.
