Stereaming Audio/Video Fails - AF_INET6

In many case, I'm unable to play streaming video and audio becaue the following error apprears in mplayer, vlc, totem, realplayer, etc:

Couldn't resolve name for AF_INET6: wm.npr.ca-central.speedera.net

Anyone have a suggested solution?

Whatever the problem is, it's nothing to do with that message, which is simply informing you that the host's name does not resolve under IPv6. Is it preceded by something like

Resolving wm.npr.ca-central.speedera.net for AF_INET6...

and then followed by

Resolving wm.npr.ca-central.speedera.net for AF_INET...
Connecting to server wm.npr.ca-central.speedera.net...

?

If your streams aren't playing, look for another error by running it from the command line and checking the output - post it here if you like. You could also post the URL of one/a few of the streams you're having difficulty with.
