Multiple package versions

Hi there,
I wanted to install one package (apigen) but I found it is outdated and orphaned. It is of version 2.*, there would be simple way of upgrading PKGBUILD to the lates version. But the next version of Apigen is 4.* and is not backward compatible with 2.*. What should I do? I've created package apigen-latest that always installs the latest Apigen stable version. Is this the good or bad approach?

Thanks

Re: Multiple package versions

Normally package apigen would provide the latest stable version. If people want to keep using an older version, they/you can create, for example, apigen2 (as with python and python2 packages in the official repos).
