Forum thread views counter

I have noticed that the view counter increases each time i refresh the page of a post. I suggest changing this, such that the view counter only increases once when a user has read the thread.
I think this gives a more realistic understanding of how many has read the thread.

Edit: s/post/thread/g

Re: Forum thread views counter

It's a thread view counter, not a post view counter.
How exactly do you expect this to work? Your suggestions should go upstream anyway.

Re: Forum thread views counter

Thanks karol, i changed the thread title wink

The thread count should only increase once per user - the user can read the thread multiple times without increasisng the count.

You suggest that instead of incrementing a number, there should be created a list of user IDs for each created (and split) thread? Are non-registered users getting a unique ID?

Re: Forum thread views counter

The thread count should only be incremented if the user did not read the thread earlier. There are many ways to implement this.
