Laptop won't hibernate

I installed both AUR packages linux-pf, hibernate-script and pm-utils. While trying

sudo pm-hibernate

a dark screen will blink and '/var/log/hibernate.log' shows this:

Re: Laptop won't hibernate

Have you configured the files in /etc/hibernate to your setup?

You must set 'SuspendDevice swap:/dev/sda8' (substitute with your swap partition), 'UseTuxOnIce yes' in tuxonice.conf and 'TryMethod tuxonice.conf' in disk.conf. Also, take a look at common.conf.

Additionally, you must edit your /etc/mkinitcpio.conf to add the 'resume' hook (before 'filesystems'). There are some more steps, read the wiki on TuxOnIce and linux-pf.

[EDIT]
Your system seems to have tried to hibernate and failed; perhaps with <Alt-F#> (# being your X tty) you'll be back at your desktop. If that's the case, post your relevant dmesg output, it might shed some light.
